Our biggest motivation is to scale depth. Both David and I have been inspired by the experiences we’ve had in our own self-development and by the experiences that we have led others through as coaches and mentors. But until now there has been a significant limitation in the scalability of those kinds of experiences.

The field of leadership development is mostly a one-on-one affair. Coaches work privately with their clients. Through their interaction, if the coach is good and the client is motivated, the client learns a great deal about themselves, about their emotional, mental, and behavioral patterns, about their strengths and weaknesses, and especially about how, not just what, to change in order to rise to their current challenges and opportunities. But because it’s one-on-one and usually expensive, not many people get access to that kind of guided learning experience.

We aren’t satisfied with that. We want to make the deep learning and transformation that can help people be more self-aware, more connected, more confident, and more effective available to as many people as possible, and especially available to everyone inside companies.
