Peer Coaching Groups that Bring Out the Best in Each Other
MEETING FORMAT

What's Up in My Life (1 minute each)
Each person speaks in any order
- Name 3 most important issues up for you right now
- For each issue, say why is this important
- And what you feel - sad, mad, glad, bad, or afraid
Debrief Homework (15 minutes total)
Anyone who wants to share
- If someone made a commitment to the group, report on action taken (or not)
- If you did homework on the Numina App, highlight something you found moving in someone else’ video
Pick Person to Explore an Issue
One person for each meeting
- Best practice is half of each meeting given to exploring an issue in depth. Each meeting one person is assigned to be the explorer who will bring an issue and get group’s input
- Explore the issue using the following four steps. Your group will go deeper quicker by keeping to this discipline
Inquire
12 minutes
Explorer names an issue that’s difficult for them and why it’s important
Group ask probing questions to surface deeper desires and concerns
Empathize
15 minutes
Each reflects silently on feelings evoked and on similar experiences that happened to you
Group share feelings and learnings from similar experiences
Support
10 minutes
Explorer shares insights so far and asks for what will be most helpful now
Group express how you see the explorer growing and offer ways you can help
Challenge
8 minutes
Explorer commits to a measurable action and says how it’s challenging
Select one person to hold explorer accountable and report back next time

- Close by confirming date of next meeting and any homework you wish to take on between now and then
