Today on Moments of Realization, bonds that never break, how to transform grief into inspiration. As I work with people, they often discover that they’re holding back from the full flow of their passion. In some way, we have all loved, got hurt, and are hesitant to love again. When someone or something really matters to us, we bond.

That bond doesn’t break, even when the relationship or project ends. We’re still connected to that lost love, sometimes this ongoing connection with a lost love becomes painful or toxic. We try to replace what is lost, shut down completely, or look for distraction. That pain can bleed into all areas of our lives. Here’s a more empowering way to stay connected.

Step 1. Take a moment to recall something or someone that really mattered to you. Where you loved, got hurt, and may be hesitant to open to that full flow again.

Step 2. Connect with what you loved.

Step 3. Make notes that honour its depth and value when it was at its best.

Step 4. Feel this as an uplifting sensation in your body, the wellspring of your passion returning.

I did this process after my dad died. He and his brother had some unresolved conflict. That lived in me as a tendency to withhold my own truth or passion. As I wrote my notes, I felt him recognize the kindness and skill that I now bring into conflicted situations, and I feel his trust in me to create a good outcome.

Share in the comments your story of how you’ve transformed feeling hurt and maybe afraid to love again into an inspiration.

Best,
